Bergljót Soffía Kristjánsdóttir: „I can't say anything“, Poetry and Crash
In the article I discuss a few poems from Anton Helgi Jónsson's book, Ljóð af ættarmóti (Poems from a Family Gathering 2010). They are read in terms of the economic collapse of 2008 and its consequences, keeping the focus simultaneously on their possible impact on the reader. Various ideas from cognitive science, e.g. on humor/irony, analogy and imitation/simulation are used in analyzing the poems and thus it is shown that human experience, including the experience of reading poetry, is embodied.
