Svavar Hrafn Svavarsson: Death, Justice, and God in Ancient Greece

 
Before Plato ideas about the afterlife, its nature and importance for the living, were indistinct and granted less weight than we find in the writings of Plato, and ever since. Nevertheless their threads can be discerned, relating both to the idea of retribution and to that of happiness.
