The Centre hosts an annual Humanities Conference and publishes a peer-reviewed journal in Icelandic, Ritið (The Work), with contributions from across the humanities.

The first Humanities Conference was hosted in 1996 and it has been an annual event since 1999. It is a two day event with a number of seminars on a variety of subjects within the humanities with speakers from the University as well as from outside.

Ritið (The Work) has been published since 2001. It publishes a mixture of thematic papers and papers under an open rubric. The journal is peer reviewed and currently under evaluation with Thomson Reuters for inclusion in the Arts and Humanities Citation Index. It is ranked as INT2 in the ERIH list.
